The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 is providing lawyers, CPAs, trust officers and financial planners with the most important opportunity to assist clients since the Tax Reform Act of 1986.   We all know this intuitively, so the real question becomes “what do I do” and “how to I jump start” the process?   For CPAs, trust officers and financial planners, the process involves mastering the technical aspects of the TCJA.  For lawyers, the challenge is a massive paradigm shift away from estate tax planning to mastering additional income tax and asset protection strategies.
